Hi, I'm Jess, and I'm from Richmond, VA. I've always loved horses since I was a little girl, and after many years of begging, my parents finally started paying for riding lessons when I was ten. Once I started riding I fell even more in love with these powerful and beautiful animals, and I've been riding horses for ten years now. I've dabbled in several different styles of riding including some western and hunter while switching to many different barns and instructors. I've mostly ridden hunter, but after a nasty fall from jumping six years ago, I became very gun-shy about it, and that is when I discovered my love for Dressage. My favorite place to be is at the barn, and I would be there all day every day if I could.
I'm an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Children's Literature here at Longwood, and I'm so excited and blessed to be able to ride on this team with a wonderful group of girls. I don't know what I would do without being able to ride at school or the team. I've never been lucky enough to own a horse yet, but that won't stop me from learning everything I can and I have high hopes for the future. I'm also very excited to announce that I am the President of the team for the 2014-2015 school year, and I'm excited to see what is in store of our team as we continue to add new members to our group this year.
